Frequently Asked Questions

what is dpc?
What is Direct Primary Care (DPC)?
DPC is a membership-based healthcare model that removes insurance from the equation so doctors can focus on what matters — you. It gives you longer visits, direct access, and transparent pricing — all with fewer patients, so your doctor actually has time for you.

Is this a new model?
Not at all. There are more than 2,100 DPC clinics across the country and growing fast. It’s healthcare the way it used to be — personal, accessible, and built on trust.

Why pay out of pocket when I already have insurance?
Because having insurance isn’t the same as having care. DPC gives you access, time, and continuity — things many patients struggle to get in traditional systems.

what’s Included in my membership?
What’s included in my membership?
-
Office visits (30–60 minutes)
-
Direct access by phone, text, and secure email
-
In-office testing (strep, flu, urinalysis, etc.)
-
Personalized care plans and lifestyle coaching
-
Ongoing management of chronic and acute conditions

Can I use my insurance?
Spring Monarch doesn’t bill insurance, but you should keep it for hospital visits and specialty care.
Some HSA/FSA plans may reimburse DPC fees — check with your provider.

I have Medicare. Can I be your patient?
Yes, Medicare beneficiaries can see a Direct Primary Care (DPC) doctor, but they will need to pay for the DPC membership fee separately, as Medicare does not cover these fees. Medicare will still cover other services like specialist visits, hospitalizations, and certain tests, even if you are also using a DPC practice for primary care.

access + urgent needs
After-hours care —
For urgent concerns, Dr. Sidhu is available by phone or text after hours.
Many issues can be handled without an urgent care visit. During “quiet hours,” she responds to emergencies and returns other messages the next business day.

Will I still need urgent care or the ER?
Most DPC members use urgent care or ER far less often.
Why? Because they already have direct access to a doctor who knows them.

how care works at spring monarch.
Is this like a regular doctor?
Yes — Dr. Sidhu has nearly 20 years of experience treating a wide range of conditions, including diabetes, blood pressure, mood disorders, and more.
She also provides physicals, Pap smears, and preventive care.

Why choose Spring Monarch over a regular clinic?
DPC means fewer patients, more time, and no rushing.
At Spring Monarch, your doctor knows your name, your history, and your goals — and builds a treatment plan around you.

What is lifestyle medicine? Do you still prescribe medication?
Absolutely. Dr. Sidhu combines modern medicine with evidence-based lifestyle changes to treat the root cause — not just the symptoms. Medications are used when appropriate, but not automatically.

what if i need hospital or specialty care?
Hospital visits —
Dr. Sidhu has privileges at Houston Methodist Willowbrook but does not admit patients directly. If you’re hospitalized, she’ll review your discharge records and help coordinate follow-up care.

Can you access or share my records with specialists or hospitals?
Spring Monarch uses Atlas.md, a secure health record system. It’s not linked to EPIC, but with a signed release, we can request and integrate your outside records. Dr. Sidhu personally reviews your history to ensure continuity of care.

still not sure about dpc?
I’ve never done this before. What should I expect?
Expect something better — a doctor who listens, knows your name, and treats you like a person — not a billing code. This is care that’s personal, not transactional.

Why did Dr. Sidhu leave the hospital system?
After nearly 15 years at Houston Methodist, Dr. Sidhu saw the system change — more paperwork, more patients, less time for each one. DPC allows her to practice medicine the way it was meant to be: grounded in relationships, built on time and trust.

prefer to meet dr. sidhu before joining?
Dr. Sidhu offers a free, no-obligation visit so you can ask questions, learn more about the DPC model, and see if this approach feels right for you.

It’s a conversation — not a commitment —
because great care starts with a good connection.
